Our Projects

Calamity

Ambagan-Bulkan Mission

FCSL was able to complete 31 Ambagan-Bulkan Missions from 1994-2004) to assist our compatriots in Pampanga who were directly affected by the lahar as aftermath of the destructive Pinatubo volcanic eruption.

Calamity

Abot-Kamay (Milano-to-the-Visayas Project)

This was the immediate response of FCSL to the devastation wrought by typhoon Yolanda to the Visayas region. All Filipino communities in Milan were invited for a special Mass where special prayers for the victions were offered. An awareness campaign was launched where Volunteers were lining up the various Piazzas of Milan asking people to pitch in to help our compatriots at home. Cash, kind, services, or prayers: all sorts of help are welcome! The campaign sent 350 Balikbayan Boxes in a 20-foot Container bound for Cebu-Leyte-Samar. Aside from this, Bishop Precioso Cantillas of Maasin, Samar was wired a total of 8,000 Euros as donation. Indeed, the response from everyone and everywhere was overwhelming.

Calamity

Assistance for Victims of Typhoon Calamities

Because typhoons, volcanic eruptions, flash flooding, and other calamities are becoming more intense, commonplace, and rampant, for Pastoral Year 2020-2021, FCSL and its sister communities (FCSD and FCGS) has decided to channel all calamity funds through the Catholic Social Action Groups in the Philippines. They are definitely in a better position to know, assist and help peoples and communities than us here in Milan. Definitely our hard-earned donation will be able to help more people through them.

We have opted to channel our monetary donation of Five Thousand Fifteen Euros (€5,015.00) to the Social Action Commission of the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco, Philippine North Province. Deposit was made March 9, 2021 through the Fondazione Opera Don Bosco Onlus, Via Copernico 9, 20125 Milano.

Scholarship

Adopt-a-Scholar Project

FCSL took upon itself to assist very poor but deserving students to have a chance of bettering their lives through education. And this was done by networking with the Canossian Sisters in Don Carlos, Bukidnon, Mindanao. We have assisted in their Santa Infantia Scholarship Program in Maramag, Don Carlos for some nine years now. Our donation for each scholastic year was indeed a great help in order to feed, transport, heal, and educate these children. The Canossian Sisters had been very diligent in sending a detailed accounting of the disbursement of the funds we sent. They have definitely been put to good use.

Charity

Kwaranta Ko, Alay Ko

Fr. Bong has challenged FCSL and her sister communities to feel the pinch of sacrifice during the Lenten Season of 2024 by making a decisive resolution to offer 1 Euro as charity or alms-giving for every day of Lent. This amount will be collected and on Palm Sunday be offered in an envelope marked "Kwaranta Ko, Alay Ko." Each community was then left to decide the disbursement of whatever they have collected into deserving charity causes, whether institutional or personal. Once again, the response of the community was overwhelming and the sister communities were able to gather a sizeable amount that helped a lot of beneficiaries. Here are some of our beneficiaries.
